The New York Times has a great article on the changing nature of technology. Not too long ago, manufacturers would have to ensure that devices would wear out so as to ensure people replaced them. Now, our upgrade culture and thirst for new technology means that quite the opposite is true. Read it here.

For the third time, Russian state-owned monopoly Gazprom is threatening to cut gas supplies to smaller countries unless they accept huge price increases and allow the company to take part-ownership of their network.
