Israeli bombs
Israel has plans to destroy Iran’s uranium enrichment facilities with “tactical” nuclear bombs if America refuses to intervene. Why does Israel think it has the moral right to nuclear weapons but Iran doesn’t? After all, Israel’s a terrorist state as well…

The US doesn’t think of Israel as a terrorist state. I think that’s probably the only difference.

What really gets me is that EU countries won’t stand up to the US over Israel…

Even Jimmy Carter had to take flak in the US for criticizing Israeli apartheid in his new book. Unfortunately, nothing’s going to change until American politicians have the guts to challenge the pro-Israeli lobby.

The problem is that American politicians aren’t ever going to stand up to the pro-Israeli lobby, because it would be a total vote-loser. I’d like them to, but they never will. Which is why I think it rests with the EU to make a stand. Unfortunately, for a trade bloc which prides itself on human rights, the EU’s crap when it comes to standing up to Israel.
Just for the record, I’m aware that I sound one-sided here and it’s not because I’m unaware of the background to the conflict. However, I do think that Israel uses disproportionate force against unarmed civilians and as such there can be no progress in the Middle East until someone reels Israel in.
