Tags and feeds
Just an update on my blog’s tags and web feeds. If you’re not a geek, ignore this post.
Over the last day I’ve tidied my tags into more logical, manageable groupings. You can see all these in the right-hand column near the bottom. Hopefully it will make it easier to find what you want - to list all posts in a certain tag, just click the link. Apologies to RSS subscribers - my tag-altering may have marked every post as updated/unread.
Talking of RSS, I’ve added extra web feeds so that readers can subscribe to feeds by tag. The four links in the right-hand column are for the main themes of my blog - politics, science and tech, business, and humour. There’s also a feed for blog announcements, such as this one. All URLs are fully hackable - for example, the following feed contains only “science and tech” and “politics” posts:
http://guyrintoul.com/feed?category_name=politics
&category_name=science-and-tech
All feeds are now RSS by default, as it makes little difference to most people. If you want an ATOM feed, insert “/atom” after “/feed” in the URL.
Finally, I may also make feeds partial by default rather than full, to allow me to better monitor the numbers of readers - currently, I have no way of knowing how many people read the syndicated content on Facebook. I will hopefully be able to offer a choice between partial and full, though.
That’s it for now ![]()
