Patient power

Techdirt has a short article suggesting health authorities give control of healthcare records to the patients. I think it’s referring to America, but it could work here too. Instead of trusting the NHS to manage and maintain our records, we as “consumers” could hold them and grant access to as necessary. No doubt fraught with potential problems including fraud and data protection, but an interesting idea. I’d rather just leave it to the NHS. It’s hard enough just managing my personal finances, no matter my medical records too…
