The blogosphere puts forward a variety of opinions on what many Americans seem to find an unthinkable proposition - helping people who can’t help themselves. Personally, I think the state insuring people who otherwise couldn’t afford treatment in the event of illness is a stupid idea. That would mean that (shock!) wealthy people might have to pay some tax to help those who are less well-off… Ahem.
