Human-animal “hybrid”
The debate about creating a human-animal “hybrid” should not really be a debate at all. What scientists are proposing is not to create some kind of monstrous creature. Rather, they want to manipulate a bundle of cells to perform stem-cell research. The technique could greatly advance research into conditions such as Parkinson’s disease. The advancement of science should not be held back by people’s misunderstanding of it, or a perceived “yuck” factor.
