An Egyptian man has been jailed for “resisting authority” after he complained that police sexually abused him during interrogation. Footage of the abuse spread over the Internet last year. When threats and intimidation didn’t work, it seems police used these charges to have him imprisoned. His defence lawyer now fears for his safety. This is horrific, and I hope the international community will take a firm stand against it.
