No representation for “terrorists”
Reddit has a link to a Washington Post article on comments by Cully Stimson, who’s responsible for overseeing detainee policy at Guantanamo Bay. In an interview, he says it’s “shocking” that US law firms are “representing the very terrorists who hit their bottom line back in 2001.” He also hinted at some crackpot theory about law firms being paid by al Qaeda to represent people. So not only does the US believe in guilty before proven innocent, it now believes that US law firms shouldn’t provide legal representation for the accused, but they will because the al Qaeda mafia is paying them to do so. And all this before he called Guantanamo “certainly, probably, the most transparent and open location in the world.”

If it were up to me, there would be no ‘Gitmo’, unless it was a cemetery. I do not read the Washington Compost, so can’t comment on article.

Haha, I like all your descriptions of the papers… Washington Compost, new York Slimes.
Anyway, tell me about it. Guantanamo has destroyed any credibility the US had as a proponent of human rights (I wrote a post on that here) and the crap that Bush administration officials sprout about it is astounding…
