“Britain’s crisis with Iran deepened last night [today] after Tehran justified seizing 15 British servicemen by claiming that they had strayed into Iranian territorial waters ‘illegally’ … The announcement appeared to rule out any hope that the incident was a simple mistake that could be quickly rectified.”

I really hope that this incident doesn’t lead the US or UK to escalate action. I’m not trying to justify Iran’s apparently illegal seizure of British Navy servicemen, but we should be careful not to rise to the bait. We need the people and the equipment back, while trying to avoid further problems in the Middle East. The Times Online article is here.
