Channel 4 News notes that, while the government is enraged at Iran for parading captured soldiers on TV, the options available to us are limited. The crisis is in early days, UN resolutions are off the table, action may affect the global oil price, Iran may expel nuclear inspectors, action could provoke a wider crisis in Iraq, and there’s probably a power struggle in Iran - all of this means that negotiations are difficult and limited.
