Biblical briefings

“One of the top planners of the US war in Iraq gave President George Bush secret intelligence briefs headlined with biblical quotations, in a bid to boost his standing with the deeply religious president but one that risked sparking a conflagration in the Muslim world if the papers leaked.”

The Guardian reports on the shocking intelligence briefings given to the US President at the time of the war in Iraq. As if Bush describing the fight against terrorism as a ‘crusade’ wasn’t bad enough, Rumsfeld saw fit to adorn military documents with iconography and quotes which smack of briefings for a religious war.
