So true… I’m sure most people who work in an office can identify with this I’m a big advocate of letting people pick one password and stick with it, or at the very least not making them have a different password for every single system they use. The problem with having too many passwords, and being forced to constantly change them, is that it has an adverse effect on security as people end up writing them down and sticking them under their keyboards so that they can remember them! Time’s “The Curious Capitalist” has an amusing anecdote about an interview with T. Boone Pickens, the American billionaire businessman who, despite owning millions of shares in Yahoo!, doesn’t know what the tech company actually does. But it seems an understanding of technology doesn’t mater when you’re a billionaire… In response to being read a breaking Yahoo-related story from the reporter’s Blackberry, he dismissively responded, “Oh, they read that letter to me 30 minutes ago.”

Seems this story’s a few months old now, but not being American I only just heard about it. New York unveiled 20 state-of-the-art public toilets in January, but reputable website PoopReport.com (I’d like to point out that I’m not a regular reader, but instead found it via a New York Times article) takes issue with many of its features. The lack of a seat, the door which takes 30 seconds to close, the 4-sheet maximum limit on toilet paper, the floor soaking from the self-cleaning mechanism. All in all, it sounds a bit shit

“Telekom Malaysia sent Yahaya Wahab a bill for 806,400,000,000,000.01 ringgit, or about $218 trillion, for charges to the account, along with a demand from the company’s debt collection agency that he settle the alleged debt within 10 days, or get a lawyer.”
